"Originally created by the designer for their living room as a trash bin, this piece aims to embody a pursuit of aesthetic perfection amidst the scattered items in a guest-reception space. Made from glass fibre reinforced plastic, "Tong" features rounded corners that seamlessly integrate into the space. The designer believes that the interior of a product is also related to its user and should be as perfect as the exterior. Thus, "Tong"'s inner bottom surface has been softened with a concave treatment to maintain consistency with the rounded corners of the exterior. Additionally, the narrowing at the bottom allows "Tong" to be stacked in multiple layers. Beyond its function as a trash bin, "Tong" can also serve as a vase or a storage container for newspapers and magazines, extending the designer's original intent."
